Award-winning Ugandan artist Spice Diana has received a unique honor that cements her influence beyond the music stage. On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, St. Andrew’s College, Sanda, marked its 16th anniversary by naming a Senior Five girls’ dormitory after the pop star.
The newly christened “Spice Diana Dorm” was unveiled during the school’s celebrations, recognizing the singer’s contributions to Uganda’s cultural landscape and youth inspiration.
Taking to social media, Spice Diana expressed her heartfelt gratitude, calling the recognition “an incredible honour.” The singer, whose chart-topping hit Kagobako continues to dominate Ugandan airwaves, reflected on the moment’s emotional weight.
“Growing up, I often saw roads and buildings named after Uganda’s greats,” she wrote. “But it never occurred to me that one day, my name could be honored in the same way.”
She added that the gesture is more than just a name on a wall—it’s a reminder of responsibility and a symbol of possibility for the students.
“To the students who will sleep in that dormitory, may my name serve as a constant reminder that your dreams are valid and achievable.”
The honor was facilitated by the school’s Directors and Father Lawrence, who were thanked by the singer for their support and vision.
