Abdul Karim Muchwa, widely known as Producer Didi, is experiencing a positive turn in his health journey, thanks to the unwavering support from Uganda’s music community.
Renowned for producing chart-topping hits like Eddy Kenzo’s “Stamina” and Coco Finger’s “My Miss” in the early 2010s, Didi’s influence on Uganda’s music scene is undeniable .
However, his life took a challenging turn when he publicly disclosed his HIV-positive status in June 2024, after a series of health complications including high blood pressure and ulcers.
The revelation was a turning point, prompting an outpouring of support from fellow artists and organizations. The National Musicians Federation (UNMF) played a pivotal role, facilitating his admission into a rehabilitation center for treatment and stabilization.
Lilian Mbabazi, a close friend and celebrated artist, recently shared an encouraging update on Didi’s condition. She noted that he has gained weight and is in better spirits, attributing his improvement to the collective efforts of the music fraternity.
Didi himself acknowledged the support, expressing gratitude towards artists like Eddy Kenzo, Coco Finger, and Pallaso, who have been instrumental in his recovery journey.
