PostBank Uganda has extended a helping hand to the Muslim community by donating assorted food items to 200 families at Kalerwe Mosque.

The donation is aimed at supporting families as they prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr after completing the sacred 30-day fasting period of Ramadan.

Ramadan is a significant period in the Islamic calendar marked by fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.

Muslims worldwide observe the holy month as a time to strengthen their spiritual connection and practice self-discipline and compassion.

In line with its corporate social responsibility, PostBank Uganda partnered with the Kalerwe Muslim Community to provide essential food items that will help families celebrate Eid with ease and comfort.

Community Commitment

PostBank Uganda’s Chief Retail Officer, Ibrahim Kato, praised the Kalerwe Mosque leadership and the Muslim community in Kawempe and across Uganda for their devotion and spiritual strength during Ramadan.

“Fasting is not only a sacrifice but also a reflection of one’s commitment to spiritual growth. We commend everyone who has observed this holy month,” Kato said.

“As a bank, we care for people in the communities where we operate. For our Muslim community, we wanted to celebrate with them and give them the means to enjoy Eid with their families.”

The donation included a variety of essential food items, ensuring that families could prepare a hearty meal to mark the end of Ramadan.

The support reflects PostBank’s ongoing commitment to uplifting communities and fostering social harmony.

Appreciation from the Community

Sheikh Haruna Bakuba of Masjid Quba Kalerwe Mosque expressed gratitude for the timely support, highlighting how the food items will make a meaningful difference for many families.

“We appreciate PostBank for this thoughtful gesture. It will enable families to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

We pledge to work closely with the bank and support any future initiatives aimed at uplifting our community,” Sheikh Bakuba said.

Strengthening Bonds Through Giving

The donation aligns with PostBank Uganda’s broader social impact strategy, which focuses on improving the welfare of communities through financial inclusion, educational support, and social outreach.

PostBank’s contribution reflects the true spirit of Ramadan — giving, compassion, and unity.

The bank aims to continue strengthening its relationship with the Muslim community and supporting initiatives that promote social well-being.
