As Muslims across Uganda prepare to mark Eid al-Adha, PostBank Uganda has stepped forward with a generous gesture—donating cows and goats to communities in multiple regions.
This initiative aims to support Muslims celebrating the sacred Islamic holiday, which traditionally involves the ritual slaughter of livestock and sharing the meat with family, friends, and the needy.
The donations were delivered to key mosques located in areas where PostBank has branches, including Arua, Mbale, Bombo, and Fort Portal. Each of these regions received cows and goats to be distributed among their congregants in time for the Eid festivities.
Martin Lukyamuzi, Regional Head of Distribution for Greater Kampala at PostBank, emphasized the bank’s commitment not only to financial inclusion but also to social well-being.
“As we approach Eid al-Adha, PostBank is honored to stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” Lukyamuzi said.
“This donation reflects our core belief that true banking goes beyond money—it’s about community support and shared values.”
The bank’s outreach was warmly received by Muslim leaders, particularly in Bombo, where the donations were handed over at Masjid Swaleh. Mufti Muhammad Kadala, representing the mosque’s leadership, praised the bank for its inclusivity and timely intervention.
“We are truly grateful for this support,” Mufti Kadala noted. “Thanks to PostBank, many families will now be able to fully partake in the spirit of Eid.”
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most important dates on the Islamic calendar. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and willingness to sacrifice, a lesson in devotion and charity that resonates deeply with Muslims worldwide.
Through its continued engagement with faith-based communities, PostBank Uganda has positioned itself not just as a bank, but as a compassionate corporate citizen.
The bank’s actions come at a time when economic pressures have made it harder for many families to afford the traditional livestock sacrifice.
“We wish all Muslims a joyous Eid al-Adha,” Lukyamuzi concluded. “PostBank remains committed to uplifting lives across Uganda—not just financially, but in spirit.”
This donation drive adds to the growing list of community-oriented initiatives by PostBank, cementing its reputation as one of the few financial institutions in Uganda that genuinely walks the talk on corporate social responsibility.
