MTN Uganda has joined the people of Buganda in celebrating the 70th birthday of His Majesty, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
To honor this milestone, the telecom giant rolled out a series of impactful community activities on April 3, 2025, under the theme “Tubeere Balamu,” which emphasizes health and well-being.
Blood Donation Drive to Save Lives
In collaboration with Uganda Transfusion Services, MTN Uganda organized a blood donation drive at the Old Taxi Park in Kampala. The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to donate blood, reinforcing a culture of generosity and communal support.
Blood donation remains a critical life-saving act, and this drive aligns with MTN’s ongoing mission to make a meaningful impact on local communities.
Discounted Transport Fares via MTN MoMo
To facilitate participation in the blood donation campaign and ensure ease of movement for revelers, MTN Uganda offered discounted transport fares.
Commuters in 50 selected taxis enjoyed fare reductions for up to five hours when paying via MTN MoMo. This initiative provided financial relief while promoting safe and efficient transport options for participants.
Special Voice Bundles for Enhanced Connectivity
As part of the celebration, MTN Uganda introduced exclusive voice bundles tailored for the central region.
The special offer allowed customers to purchase 35 minutes for just 1,000 UGX by dialing *100*21*1#.
This initiative aimed to encourage communication, foster business discussions, and spread health awareness among the public.
