Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected unopposed as the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), solidifying his leadership until 2029.
The decision, confirmed during the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, underscores the widespread confidence in his vision for African football.
The South African billionaire, who took the helm in 2021, faced no challengers after the nomination deadline passed in November 2024.
His re-election was driven by overwhelming support from Member Association Presidents and key stakeholders, who praised his transformative leadership.

Under his leadership, prize money for major competitions like the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has seen substantial increases.
