Kyambogo University Opens 2025/26 Admissions: Apply by May 25th

Kyambogo University has officially opened its online application portal for the 2025/2026 academic year under the Direct Entry Scheme. This announcement was made by Dr. Annie Begumisisa, the University’s Academic Registrar.

Prospective students aiming for private sponsorship can now apply through the university’s online system using their O’ level or A’ level academic qualifications.

The portal is live at https://apply.kyu.ac.ug, and all applications must be submitted by Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

Who Can Apply?

For admission into a bachelor’s degree program, applicants must present:

  • A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes in one sitting.
  • A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 2 principal passes in recognized subjects.

For diploma programs, the minimum requirements include:

  • A UCE certificate with at least 5 passes.
  • A UACE certificate with 1 principal pass and 2 subsidiary passes.

These standards are consistent with national guidelines set by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

Application Fees & Payment Details

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee.

  • UGX 50,000 for Ugandan and East African nationals.
  • UGX 110,000 for international applicants.

Bank charges may apply based on the payment method used. Kyambogo advises applicants to follow the instructions carefully to ensure successful submission.

Important Dates and Reminders

The final deadline for application submissions is Sunday, May 25th, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
