Ugandan music sensation King Saha, real name Mansur Ssemanda, is taking no chances with his reputation.
Through his lawyers, E. Wambi Advocates and Solicitors, Saha has issued a formal intention to sue TikTok content creator Ismail Ssefuko, widely known as Dr. Cephco, for defamation.
At the heart of the legal clash is a viral claim posted on May 5 by Dr. Cephco via his TikTok account. In the post, Cephco accuses Saha of vandalizing his silver Toyota Noah (registration UBP 661Q).
However, according to Saha’s legal team, these accusations are not just false—they’re malicious.
The lawyers argue that at the time of the alleged incident, Saha wasn’t even in Uganda. He was in Japan, attending to prior scheduled commitments, a fact backed up by his travel documents.
Saha’s team isn’t treating the matter lightly. They demand Dr. Cephco pay Shs 200 million (about $52,000) within seven days as compensation for the reputational harm caused. But the demands don’t end there.
Cephco has also been ordered to issue a full public apology and retract the defamatory statements across all his social media platforms.
Moreover, he must halt any further defamatory remarks about Saha and provide written confirmation that he has complied with these demands.
Failure to meet these terms, the notice warns, will push the legal process forward, potentially dragging Cephco into court for a drawn-out battle.
This case puts a spotlight on the rising tensions between Ugandan celebrities and social media influencers.
In a country where gossip and online claims can spread like wildfire, reputational damage can carry real financial and emotional costs. For stars like Saha, protecting one’s image isn’t just about ego—it’s about livelihood.
Saha, known for hits like “Zakayo” and “Biri Biri,” has built a loyal fan base over the years. With brand endorsements and music sales on the line, a dent in public image can ripple into real-world losses.
His move to demand swift public correction signals that Uganda’s entertainment figures are increasingly ready to push back against online misinformation.
As for Dr. Cephco, this legal notice sends a loud message: viral claims come with real-world consequences.
Whether Cephco complies or the matter escalates to court, this showdown reminds social media creators to tread carefully when targeting public figures.
The next few days will determine whether this storm ends with a settlement or blows up into a full-fledged legal spectacle. For now, all eyes are on Dr. Cephco’s response.
