KCB Bank Powers Kyambogo Ultra Run to Champion Fitness and Green Living

KCB Bank officials unveiling the Kyambogo Ultra Challenge Run sponsorship

KCB Bank Uganda has stepped in as the lead sponsor of the upcoming Kyambogo Ultra Challenge Run, strengthening its mission to promote fitness, digital inclusion, and environmental stewardship across the country.

The event is set for Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Kyambogo University Sports Grounds, with an early start at 6 a.m. It will feature three distances—10km, 25km, and 50km—making it accessible for both casual runners and seasoned ultra athletes.

This partnership builds on KCB Bank’s growing legacy of supporting Ugandan sports, which already includes rugby, golf, motorsports, and volleyball.

According to the bank, the Kyambogo Ultra Challenge aligns with its broader strategy to build a healthier, more active society.

Our passion for supporting sports in Uganda reflects our brand promise: For People, For Better,” said Sheila Awori, acting head of marketing and communications at KCB Bank Uganda. “Running challenges people to grow, connects communities, and builds resilience.”

Registration is UGX 50,000 and can be completed through the KCBPay platform. Race kits are available by dialing 2449# and entering merchant code 124810. The bank highlighted this seamless payment system as part of its drive for financial inclusion and digital access.

But it’s not just about pounding the pavement. In a unique eco-conscious gesture, every race finisher will receive a fruit tree seedling, a nod to the bank’s commitment to sustainability.

“We want to inspire a culture where health, technology, and green living intersect,” Awori said.

The event also serves as a stepping stone for runners training for regional and international marathons. KCB Bank sees this not only as a race but as a movement—uniting fitness lovers, tech adopters, and environmental advocates under one banner.

By anchoring the Kyambogo Ultra Challenge, KCB Bank cements its role as a responsible corporate citizen, deeply invested in Uganda’s wellness and growth.

The bank is now rallying the public to lace up and be part of this impactful event.
