The 2025 Trace Awards & Summit, held at the breathtaking Mora Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania, was a dazzling celebration of African music, culture, and creative excellence.

As the platinum sponsor, Johnnie Walker played a central role in curating a premium experience that fused the bold spirit of whisky with the vibrant energy of Africa’s biggest music night.

The event brought together music legends, industry leaders, and cultural icons, with South Africa’s Tito & Huppe taking home Song of the Year for their global hit Tswhala Bam.

Nigerian superstar Rema dominated the awards, winning Album of the Year for Heis and Male Artist of the Year, while Ivory Coast’s Didi B claimed Best Hip-Hop Artist.

Kyokunda also applauded Uganda’s Joshua Baraka for his nomination in the Best East African category.
