The Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce (JATT) operates within Uganda’s broader security framework, just like other agencies tasked with maintaining law and order, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Donald Muhwezi.

Speaking on NBS Barometer, a political talk show, SSP Muhwezi addressed public curiosity about JATT’s mandate. He emphasized that the agency’s primary objective is to protect citizens and their property, aligning with the nation’s collective security goals.

“JATT is a security apparatus like others, mandated to ensure the safety of citizens and their property. Its operations align with the collective goal of securing the country,” SSP Muhwezi stated.
