ISBAT University Launches Advanced AI & Robotics Lab

Mr. John Musinguzi Rujoki inaugurates the AI & Robotics Lab alongside ISBAT University leadership.

ISBAT University has set a new benchmark in Uganda’s technological education with the launch of its state-of-the-art AI & Robotics Lab.

This facility aims to drive research, innovation, and skill development, positioning Uganda as a regional leader in artificial intelligence and robotics.

The lab was officially inaugurated by Mr. John Musinguzi Rujoki, Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority, alongside ISBAT University’s top leadership—Chairman Mr. Varghese Mundamattam, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. K.M. Mathew, and Chancellor Mr. Fred Mandir Jachan Omach.

During the ceremony, Mr. Musinguzi Rujoki engaged in strategic discussions with university leaders on how this initiative can enhance students’ skills and contribute to Uganda’s development goals.

A Hub for Innovation

Chairman Mr. Varghese Mundamattam reaffirmed ISBAT’s commitment to future-ready education, stating, “This lab embodies our vision to nurture leaders in innovation. It serves as a hub where creativity meets technology, transforming knowledge into impactful solutions.”

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. K.M. Mathew highlighted the interdisciplinary potential of the facility.

“Through this lab, our students and researchers will tackle real-world challenges in AI, robotics, and machine learning, providing solutions for industries like agriculture, healthcare, and logistics.”

Mr. Musinguzi Rujoki praised ISBAT for integrating technology with education, emphasizing that equipping Uganda’s youth with digital skills will have long-term benefits beyond academia.

Chancellor Mr. Fred Mandir Jachan Omach reinforced this sentiment, describing ISBAT’s mission as one that produces not just skilled professionals but also responsible innovators.
