In a powerful display of corporate social responsibility, I&M Bank Uganda has rolled out a nationwide blood donation drive in partnership with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS).
The initiative, which spanned multiple branches across the country, collected 135 units of blood, providing a much-needed boost to the national blood bank.
A Lifesaving Initiative
The blood donation drives were held at I&M Bank’s Head Office in Kingdom Kampala, as well as its Kawempe, Entebbe, Jinja, and Arua branches.
Both bank staff and community members enthusiastically participated, highlighting the collective effort to address Uganda’s blood shortage.
Annette Nakiyaga, I&M Bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, emphasized the importance of the initiative.
“The blood donation drive is a meaningful way for us to give back to the community and boost the healthcare system,” she said. “We believe that supporting blood donation drives can help make a difference in people’s lives, especially in critical situations where blood is vital.”
Beyond Blood Donation
This isn’t the first time I&M Bank has stepped up to support Uganda’s healthcare system. Recently, the bank partnered with the Kabaka Foundation for the Tubeere Balamu Community Health Camp.
The event provided thousands of Ugandans with free health education, medical check-ups, treatment, and the opportunity to donate blood.
