KAMPALA, Uganda – In a gesture of appreciation and unity, Housing Finance Bank (HFB) hosted a special Iftar dinner at Hotel Africana to honor its Muslim staff and customers during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event brought together employees, clients, religious leaders, and business figures to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and gratitude.

A Night of Gratitude and Community

The Iftar dinner underscored HFB’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with its Muslim community.

Peace Ayebazibwe, the bank’s Executive Director, emphasized the importance of recognizing their loyalty and contributions.

“We are grateful to our Muslim staff and customers for their unwavering support. This dinner is our way of acknowledging their role in our success,” Ayebazibwe said.

The gathering highlighted the bank’s dedication to inclusivity and respect, reinforcing its reputation as a financial institution that values community beyond business.

Sustainability and Social Impact

Beyond the festivities, HFB reaffirmed its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

Dr. Shafik Mujabi from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) praised the bank for its sustainability efforts, including:

  • Financial inclusion programs
  • Access to clean water initiatives
  • Tailored financial solutions for underserved communities

As part of its sustainability agenda, HFB donated UGX 8 million to install clean water harvesting facilities at two schools:

  1. Maganjo UMEA Primary School (Nansana Municipal)
  2. Kadugala S.S. (Masaka)

This contribution aligns with the bank’s long-term goal of improving community well-being, particularly in education and essential infrastructure.

Strengthening Bonds Beyond Banking

The Iftar dinner served as more than just a meal—it was an opportunity for HFB to deepen its connection with the Muslim community.

Guests expressed appreciation for the bank’s thoughtful gesture, which reinforced mutual trust and respect.

“At HFB, we exist because of our customers. Their success is our success,” Ayebazibwe added, reiterating the bank’s customer-centric philosophy.

Looking Ahead

HFB remains committed to its core values of service, respect, and community engagement.

Events like the Iftar dinner demonstrate the bank’s dedication to nurturing relationships that transcend financial transactions, ensuring a lasting impact on the communities it serves.
