In a groundbreaking moment, Hadiyyah Namatovu has become the first female winner of the Omumanyi wa Salam TV competition, breaking a four-year streak of male victories.
The grand finale, held at Fairway Hotel Kampala, was a star-studded event attended by dignitaries, including Next Media Group CEO Dr. Kin Kariisa and Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki.
A Triumph of Knowledge and Faith
Namatovu’s exceptional Islamic and general knowledge earned her the prestigious title, along with a fully funded Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah, courtesy of Muzaata Hajj and Umrah Services.
Her victory marks a significant milestone in the competition’s history, inspiring Muslim youth across Uganda.
The Runners-Up
The competition saw fierce competition, with Lutaaya Huzairu, Kakomi Farooq, and Bulobe Muhammad Harunah finishing as runners-up.
They received generous prizes, including land titles, TV sets, mattresses, and more, recognizing their dedication and hard work.

Dr. Kin Kariisa, CEO of Next Media Group, expressed his delight at the campaign’s success, announcing a special gift for the winner through Hajji Karim Kaliisa.
