Fik Gaza Cries Foul After Arrest, Claims Career Sabotage Plot

Fik Gaza, who got arrested

Dancehall star Fik Gaza has come out swinging after his dramatic arrest on Thursday, claiming the charges against him are part of a setup meant to sabotage his career.

Currently detained at Kibuye Police Station, the singer—real name Shafiq Dangote—was arrested during a police operation at his home in Makindye. Authorities say the operation was part of a wider crackdown on a recent rise in robbery cases across Kampala’s Katwe Division.

“This was a targeted operation based on intelligence gathered in the wake of increased criminal activity,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

However, Fik Gaza has strongly denied any wrongdoing. Taking to his social media platforms, the musician insisted he is being framed by individuals determined to bring him down.

Setup alert! They’re trying to take me down, obviously,” he posted. “There’s a plot to arrest me on false charges. Someone wants to destroy my career and reputation. But I won’t let them!”

He continued, calling out unnamed individuals he accused of spreading lies. “I know who you are, and I know what you’re trying to do. I’m not afraid. I’m standing strong, and I’m fighting for the truth!”

Fik Gaza also made a passionate appeal to his fans: “I need your support now more than ever. Share this post, spread the word, and let’s get the truth out!”

Despite his public defiance, the singer is expected to appear in court on Monday to face the charges formally.

Fik Gaza is no stranger to controversy, but this arrest—paired with claims of sabotage—adds a new layer of tension to his public image. His fans remain divided, with some expressing unwavering support while others wait for more facts to emerge.

The coming days will be critical for both the artist and the authorities. If these allegations prove unfounded, it could shift public opinion and raise questions about the motives behind the arrest. But if evidence holds up in court, the fallout for the singer could be devastating.
