Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Uganda’s economy, contributing 80% of GDP and 90% of the private sector.
Recognizing their critical role, Ecobank Uganda recently hosted an SME Consultative Breakfast Workshop, bringing together over 80 SME customers and bank staff to foster dialogue, networking, and growth opportunities.
A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation
The workshop showcased Ecobank’s commitment to supporting SMEs through innovative products and services. Key highlights included:
- Ellevate: A women empowerment program designed to support female entrepreneurs with tailored financial solutions.
- Ecobank Single Market Trade Hub: A platform facilitating cross-border trade across Africa’s single market, helping SMEs expand their reach.
These initiatives are part of Ecobank’s broader strategy to empower SMEs, enabling them to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities.
