Coca-Cola Uganda has officially brought back its beloved “Share a Coke” campaign, refreshing the global favourite with exciting new experiences and a focus on authentic, personal connections.

Originally launched in 2011, the campaign made waves by replacing the Coca-Cola logo with people’s first names—a first in global branding.

In 2025, the revival goes a step further, combining physical personalisation with digital storytelling to reach a new generation of consumers.

More Names, More Personalisation

This year’s edition includes an expanded name list on bottles and a custom QR code that links to the “Share a Coke” digital hub, where users can create and send personalised virtual Coke bottles to friends and loved ones.

The hub also features the “Memory Maker”—a creative digital tool that lets users craft custom memes and videos with their favourite people.

In collaboration with popular content creators, Coca-Cola has made it easy and fun for Ugandans to remix memories using branded templates.

Why It Matters in 2025

According to Coca-Cola, this campaign taps into Gen Z’s desire for authenticity. Over 72% of Gen Z say they value genuine human connection—something often missing in today’s digital-only interactions.

“In our increasingly digital lives, it’s more important than ever to cherish the special bonds of friendship,” said Vivienne Olenyo, Manager, Frontline Marketing at Coca-Cola Uganda.

Share a Coke serves as a reminder that some of life’s most magical moments happen in real-life gatherings—over stories, laughter, and a cold Coke.”

A Celebration of Culture

The Ugandan campaign officially launched at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) with a colourful Cultural Gala. The event celebrated East African heritage through:

  • Traditional music, dance, and fashion
  • Art exhibitions
  • Live performances from top Ugandan artists and DJs
  • Interactive “Share a Coke” zones

These vibrant third spaces—where people gather informally—reflect Coca-Cola’s mission to revive physical connections in a digital world.
