KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan music heavyweight Bebe Cool has officially set May 30, 2025, as the release date for his much-anticipated album Break The Chains.
The announcement came during a lively TikTok Live session on Friday, where Bebe Cool interacted with top local content creators and offered fresh insights into the project.
Break The Chains has been nearly two years in the making, stirring widespread excitement across the Ugandan and African music scenes. The album promises a bold reinvention, blending Bebe Cool’s signature sound with new Afrobeats influences and deeper, more personal storytelling.
Fans have already had a taste of the transformation through two singles — Circumference and Motivation — both praised for their fresh sound and confident artistic shift.
A Strategic Leap Toward Afrobeats Excellence
Speaking during the TikTok Live, Bebe Cool emphasized that the stylistic change was intentional, aligning with Africa’s booming Afrobeats market.
“Break The Chains is about cracking the glass ceiling to take Ugandan music to tables where we’re often not invited,” Bebe Cool declared.
In a bold move, he collaborated with rising Ugandan talents, including Joshua Baraka, and partnered with a new wave of producers redefining the country’s evolving soundscape.
Bebe Cool said he hopes the album will inspire the next generation to explore beyond the familiar.
“Uganda has always missed out because our artists who could have led the way became too comfortable or too scared to venture into the unknown,” he remarked.
Building on Past Success
Break The Chains follows the celebrated Go Mama album, which earned Bebe Cool continental acclaim. He secured nominations at the MTV Africa Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, and the Kora Awards.
The hit single Love You Everyday from Go Mama remains Uganda’s most exported song on Spotify, clocking over 5.5 million streams and 14 million YouTube views.
With Break The Chains, Bebe Cool aims to push even further, offering a project that’s not only deeply personal but crafted for both Ugandan and global audiences.
Where to Find the Album
Bebe Cool confirmed that Break The Chains will be available on all major streaming platforms — Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
He promised to share more updates and behind-the-scenes content in the lead-up to May 30, further fueling excitement among fans eagerly awaiting his next big chapter.
