Aquafina Joins Black Pirates as Official Hydration Partner

Black Pirates' February 2025 Player of the Month Frank Kidega receives award at King’s Park Arena, as Aquafina partnership boosts player recognition and fan experience.

In a bold move to support athletic performance and wellness, Black Pirates Rugby Club has announced Aquafina Drinking Water as its official hydration partner for 2025.

The partnership was unveiled in Kampala on April 9, positioning Aquafina — a premium brand from Pepsi-Cola International — at the heart of Uganda’s rugby scene.

The partnership is more than a logo deal. It’s a strategic alliance that will see Aquafina provide 960 litres of drinking water every month to the team. This covers both training sessions and match days, ensuring players and staff stay refreshed and energized all year long.

What makes this deal stand out? For starters, Aquafina is now the only water brand sold at King’s Park Arena. That means fans too can enjoy the same top-tier hydration as their rugby heroes during every game and event.

The collaboration reflects Aquafina’s wider vision — promoting peak performance, wellness, and community development under the banner “Hydration for Greatness.”

Grace Namutebi, Aquafina’s Brand Manager, described the partnership as a landmark in sports support.

“By providing all the hydration needs for Black Pirates Rugby Club throughout their training and games, Aquafina will support the players to continue performing at their peak,” she said.

But there’s more. This isn’t just about water. The deal includes branded merchandise for staff at King’s Park Arena, exclusive media campaigns, and community-based CSR initiatives. Monthly social media activations will also keep fans engaged, updated, and part of the action.

For Black Pirates, this partnership is a major win. It’s a chance to align with a globally recognized brand while reinforcing their commitment to elite athletic performance and local fan engagement.

Aquafina Drinking Water is bottled and distributed in Uganda by Crown Beverages Ltd. The 500ml bottles are available countrywide at a recommended retail price of UGX 1,000, making hydration both premium and accessible.

As Uganda’s sports landscape grows more competitive, local clubs like Black Pirates are proving that strategic partnerships can match — and even outpace — international models.

With Aquafina onboard, expect an even more energized, focused, and dominant team on the pitch this year.
