SOROTI— Airtel Uganda has launched five new 4G network sites in Soroti City, reinforcing its promise to deliver fast, reliable, and nationwide digital connectivity.

This move is part of the telecom giant’s aggressive infrastructure rollout aimed at strengthening its 100% 4G network across Uganda. The Soroti expansion directly benefits thousands in the greater Teso region—bringing stronger signals, faster speeds, and improved service for both residents and businesses.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Wongani Muthiya, Airtel’s Sales Director, reaffirmed the company’s mission to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive growth.

“Our goal is to ensure that every Ugandan, regardless of location, can enjoy reliable and affordable digital services,” Muthiya said. “These new sites bring us closer to closing the connectivity gap and equipping local communities with the tools they need to grow, connect, and thrive.”

Though the launch event showcased just one of the sites, all five are fully operational, delivering immediate benefits to users across Soroti.

Driving Local Transformation

This network upgrade couldn’t come at a better time. From students accessing online learning, to farmers using market apps, and entrepreneurs running mobile-based businesses, the impact is set to be wide-reaching.

Paul Eseru, Soroti District’s Resident Commissioner, praised Airtel for stepping up with meaningful investment:

“Reliable network coverage is essential for everything—from education to commerce and healthcare,” he said. “This initiative will not only improve communication but also contribute to the social and economic transformation of our people.”

More Than Just Connectivity

With Uganda increasingly relying on mobile platforms for education, finance, agriculture, and healthcare, stable network access is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Airtel Uganda has positioned itself at the forefront of this transformation. The company continues to pump resources into new sites across the country, ensuring underserved regions like Soroti don’t fall behind in the digital race.

This expansion into Soroti reflects a broader vision—delivering a brilliant digital experience to every Ugandan and ensuring that no community is left behind.

Whether it’s keeping in touch with loved ones, running a business, or accessing vital services, Airtel’s 4G network is becoming a digital lifeline for thousands in eastern Uganda.
