Absa Bank Uganda has announced Ms. Sharifah Buzeki, the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), as the Chief Runner for the 2025 Absa KH3-7 Hills Run.
The event, scheduled for March 16, 2025, aims to raise funds for initiatives that break down barriers to girls’ education.
A Run for Education
Buzeki’s participation highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in driving social change.
“Joining the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run as Chief Runner is more than a personal challenge—it’s a stand for every girl who deserves an education. I’m proud to lead this effort alongside Absa and our partners,” Buzeki said during the kit handover ceremony.
2025 Route Map Unveiled
The official route map for the 2025 run was also released, featuring three race categories:
Water Points and Registration
1. 21km Race
- Starts at Millennium Grounds, Lugogo.
- Traverses Naguru Road, Roscoe Road, Impala Avenue, Upper Kololo Terrace, Acacia Avenue, Nakasero Hill Road, Old Kampala Road, Namirembe Road, Lubiri Ring Road, Nsambya Road, Kibuli Road, Jinja Road, Wampewo Avenue, and back to Millennium Grounds.
2. 10km Race
- Starts at Millennium Grounds.
- Routes through Naguru Estate Road, Katalima Road, Ntinda II Road, Bukoto-Ntinda Road, Mvule Lane, Upper Naguru Road, Naguru Drive Road, and back to the starting point.
3. 5km CEO Fun Run
- Starts at Millennium Grounds.
- Takes Naguru Road, Estate Road, Katalima Road, Naguru Drive Road, Naggulu Avenue, and returns to the starting point.
Water Points and Registration
Strategic water points are placed along all routes to ensure runners stay hydrated. Registration is ongoing, with individual kits priced at UGX 35,000 (ordinary) and UGX 40,000 (timed).
Corporate team packages range from UGX 2 million to UGX 5 million, depending on team size. Kits are available at select Absa branches.
